The Griffins made the short trip to Alumni Arena in Buffalo to take on the UB Bulls. UB emerged with their second straight win, while Canisius recorded their second consecutive loss.

Canisius started off hot, leading 21-16 thanks to a seven point run. However, the Bulls accomplished a 21 point run to retake the lead. The Bulls led by twelve at halftime, up 39-27, and they didn’t look back.

Thanks to a team high 22 points from Buffalo’s Curtis Jones, UB outscored Canisius by eight in the second half to achieve the twenty point win.

Graduate student Jamir Moultrie led Canisius in points, with 17. Redshirt-freshman Tahj Staveskie added nine points and seven rebounds during his thirty minutes of playing time. The Griffs ended the night shooting 33.3% from the field and 22.2% from beyond the three-point line.

Canisius head coach Reggie Witherspoon spoke on his team in his post game interview.

“Our opponent today played much harder than we did. We did not have enough intensity to compete today. We turned the ball over way too much and we did not defend with any force. We didn't do too many things right today, and they took advantage of that."

The Griffs travel to Albany to take on MAAC opponent Siena. The game at MVP Arena is at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 2, and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.
