Senior goalkeeper Jordan Spencer has been influential in keeping the Griffs ahead in conference play as they sit at 6–0–1 and lead the MAAC.

Spencer has earned many acknowledgements during her time as a Griff. She was named All-MAAC Second Team Selection her junior season and All-Academic team in 2022 and 2023. She also became second in career history for season shutouts with eight, and second in career history for goals against with 1.19.

Spencer dedicates her accomplishments to her teammates. “I would not be where I am today without my wonderful teammates and their support on and off the field. It also drives me to be better,” says Spencer.

In her junior season, Spencer set the program record for season goals against average with a .543. This season, Spencer is now second in Canisius history for 17 career shutouts. Her 17th shutout was against Siena on Oct. 9.

“My role is not an easy one because the position has a lot of pressure, however, I always do my best to be there for my defenders when a shot gets past them, as I know they are always there for me if I ever make a mistake,” said Spencer.

Last season, Spencer led the MAAC in GAA (goals allowed average) with .543, a save percentage of .875, and solo shutouts of seven. Her high accomplishments of last season has helped her excel during her senior season.

Spencer ranks seventh in the country in goals against average and sits at first in the MAAC with .333 this season. She's also second in the MAAC with .667 shutouts per game. Spencer has only allowed four goals against with 73 shots faced.

So far this season, she’s played 1080:00 minutes of gameplay, made 29 saves and has a .879 save percentage and eight shutouts. Her season highs of this year were both against Marist on Oct. 2, with ten shots faced and five saves.

With Spencer’s many achievements and strong gameplay, she has helped lead the Griffs to be strong contenders in the MAAC. “We are going to continue with our success because we have fought for it everyday. My class went 0–15–2 our freshman year which means we have built this program from the ground up and we will fight for this change in our program until we graduate,” states Spencer.

Spencer and the women’s soccer team will face Quinnipiac on Oct. 11 at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, NY.
