The Canisius cross country/track and field team traveled to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania last weekend to participate in the Bison Outdoor Classic, and came away with two top-10 finishes.
Sophomore Taylor Heschke posted a top-10 finish in the women’s 10,000-meter final with a time of 39:59.84, coming in 9th place. Junior Nick Dauphinee finished top-10 in the men’s mile final, posting a time of 4:24.70, good enough for 6th place in the event.
Other highlights from the Griffin women included senior Olivia Moran finishing 12th in the women’s 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:59.34. Freshman Jacqueline Appenheimer placed 14th in the women’s 3,000-meter final, finishing in 10:30.03. Senior Brynne Ketchum took 21st in the women’s mile with a time of 5:56.35.
On the men’s side, freshman Joe Pivarunas placed 16th in the men’s mile final, with a time of 4:34.25. Senior Tom Appenheimer finished 12th in the men’s 5,000 meter final, posting a time of 14:24.88. Senior Andrew Perreault took 19th in the men’s 3,000 meter steeplechase, finishing in 9:22.49.
The Griffins have another meet this weekend in Buffalo at the UB Team Invitational on Saturday April 22, before wrapping up their regular season in Philadelphia at the Penn Relays on April 27-29.
