The National Survey for Student Engagement is more than just a random prize drawing. It is an important measure that allows for the university to gauge the effectiveness of its programs.
Students who complete the survey that was sent via email are then added to a random drawing with prizes ranging from an Apple Watch worth $299 to 1 of 25 Tim Hortons gift cards for a total of $10 each. The chances of winning are dependent on how many people participate in the survey. The more students that participate, the larger the prize that can be offered.
Mike Yates, assistant vice president and dean of students, stated during a meeting of the United Students Association that “This is a survey that is worth your time.”
The opportunity to participate in the survey is only available on a rolling basis.
The survey is part of the Evidence-Based Improvement in Higher Education, and provides information regarding student participation in higher education.
The questions for the survey ask about working in groups, engaging in diverse perspectives and the impact that classes have had on learning and takeaways from various classes in the curriculum.
The survey is open from Feb. 24 until April 1, so interested students still have time to complete the survey and add their names to the drawing.
