Several years ago, my doctor recommended I take fish oil to get my omega 3/6s. Since I could not find a tasty one back then, I just decided to eat more fish. However, you probably should not do that every day, due to the mercury. I kept searching on and off for a while. I ended up finding a seriously delicious, tasty omega last year. If anyone reading this is looking still, look no further than Barleans. They have absolutely nailed making this supplement delicious.
They offer their fish oil in both vegan and non-vegan varieties. I’ve tried both options, and they are both delicious. They taste exactly like the flavor they are, and there are no fishy or smelly burps. I can personally vouch for the tastes of both the Strawberry Banana Omega-3 (vegan) and the Total Omega Pomegranate Blueberry (vegan) flavors.
The strawberry banana has more of a dominant strawberry taste. It reminds me of a blended strawberry banana yogurt. On the other hand, the pomegranate blueberry is so delicious, you will want to drink the whole thing: it’s that good. It has more of a pomegranate taste to it than a blueberry one, but it’s still pretty balanced flavor profile wise. (Don’t drink the whole bottle — follow the dose rules.)
I recently decided to try their non-vegan Omega. I opted for the Lemon Crème Omega-3, thinking you can’t go wrong with lemon and fish, as I put lemon on my fish whenever I eat it. All their non-vegan options use anchovy, sardine or mackerel for the fish oil. I do not like any of those types of fish. I have to say, after tasting the lemon crème flavor, this stuff is darn good! I think I even like it more than the vegan options. This lemon crème flavor tastes exactly like lemon crème. I think it tastes a lot like lemon meringue without the pie dough. It is so good.
I will definitely be trying out their other flavors; I just wish I had found Barleans several years ago. In addition to their omega lines, they offer a liquid form of Vitamin D in a strawberry milkshake flavor. I currently use this, but I don’t think it tastes like a strawberry milkshake: it tastes more like a candied strawberry to me, but it’s still a tasty way to get your vitamins. Barleans sells a lot of different products, but the group is most known for their tasty oils. They also offer these omegas for kids, too. There are also some pet items there as well. So far, I just purchase the omegas and Vitamin D.
They offer assistance programs where you can get 40% off their products, and there is no minimum order required. It is easy to sign up via phone or email. I recommend calling them for the fastest service — their customer service is wonderful.
If you’re looking for great tasting omegas, Barleans is the place. You can also find their product on Amazon and at Vitamin Shoppe; however, I would stick to ordering directly from Barleans, especially if you are on an assistance program, as only barleans.com will give you that 40% off discount (other sites will not). Also, there are reviews on Amazon that report products not being fresh when ordered from Amazon. I can only speak on the products I’ve ordered from Barleans, and they have been fresh every time. I would not order from anyone else but Barleans.
I really wish they would make a tasty multivitamin. If anyone can do it, they can. (Yes, I’ve already suggested it to them.)
